Winners of the AAAI-Cannes Young Creatives Contest 2006 Declared

Rediffusion Team Wins the AAAI-Cannes Young Creatives Contest 2006

Preeti Verma and Rajat Dawar of Rediffusion DY&R Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon were today adjudged the winners in the national creative initiative taken by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and supported by THE TIMES GROUP.

The Advertising Association of India is delighted to announce that for the sixth consecutive year the AAAI has been able to encourage young creative talent in the country, through an initiative aimed at nurturing and providing them with an opportunity for international exposure.

It is also a matter of pride that the Rediffusion DY&R team that the AAAI has selected, through a contest will be the official Indian team to take part in the Young Creatives Contest 2006 at Cannes.

The winning team will be flying off to the Cannes Advertising Festival in June to be the official Indian representatives and to compete with about forty-five teams from all over the world in the prestigious International Young Creatives Contest.

Supported by THE TIMES GROUP, the AAAI organized the national leg of this contest (AAAI-Cannes Young Creatives Contest 2006), and invited entries on the theme Prevent Female Foeticide from AAAI member agencies and all INS accredited advertising agencies.

Mr Vinod Nair – an AAAI Executive Committee Member and currently in charge of this initiative of the AAAI, was the Convenor of the Jury. For the judging process, Mr Prasoon Joshi, Regional Creative Director South & South East Asia, McCann Erickson (India) Pvt Ltd, Mr Ravi Deshpande, Chief Creative Officer, Contract Advertising (India) Pvt Ltd and Mr Bhupal Ramnathkar of Executive Creative Director of Bates Enterprise Pvt Ltd were invited as jury members.

Out of the 207 entries received from 46 advertising agencies, the judges shortlisted nine and then unanimously chose the winning team.

This initiative was advertised, in the Times of India and Brand Equity, courtesy THE TIMES GROUP, the Official Festival Representatives of Cannes in India, who have also kindly consented to bear all the expenses of the wining teams' trip to Cannes.
