With
communal violence rearing its ugly head,
the situation in Gujarat was cause for real
concern. Mr Ashok Roy of Advertising Avenues
telephoned the AAAI and not only emphasised
the need for Associations like ours to focus
on issues like these, but also said that
his agency had already created some public
service communication that the AAAI could
use. Newspaper groups like Indian Express,
Midday and the Janmabhoomi Group were more
than ready to carry this advertisement as
a public service message from the AAAI in
Maharashtra and Gujarat.
