Mr Goutam Rakshit Wins AAAI Premnarayen Award
 

AAAI-Premnarayen Award Conferred on to
Mr Goutam Rakshit, Managing Director, Advertising Avenues


Mumbai, July 21, 2005:

Mr Goutam Rakshit, Managing Director, Advertising Avenues, was presented with the AAAI-Premnarayen Award, the highest honour given to an individual in India for his outstanding contribution to the advertising industry.

The AAAI President, Mr Srinivasan K Swamy, presented the award to Mr Rakshit at a glittering ceremony held at The Hilton Towers, Mumbai attended by industry stalwarts and luminaries.

The Premnarayen Awards were instituted in the year 1988 by the Advertising Agencies Association of India as the highest honour to be given to an individual in India for his outstanding contribution to the advertising industry. Mr Goutam Rakshit is the 17th recipient of the prestigious award from the Advertising industry. Over the years, beginning with Subhas Ghosal, sixteen trailblazing captains of the advertising industry have been awarded the AAAI-Premnarayen Trophy in recognition and acknowledgement of their achievements; and Mr Goutam Rakshit joins the illustrious ranks of advertising stalwarts like Mr Bal B Mundkur, Mr K Kurian, Mr S R Ayer, Mr Alyque Padamsee, Mr Sylvester daCunha, Mr M K Khanna, (Late) Prof. Subroto Sengupta, (Late) Mr Ravi Gupta, (Late) Mr R K Swamy, Mr A G Krishnamurthy, Mr Mohammed Khan, Mr Gerson daCunha, Mr Walter Saldanha, Diwan Arun Nanda and Prem Mehta all of who are past recipients of this award. The award, presented annually, recognizes the individual contribution in the following areas:

Leadership of the industry as an individual.
Contribution towards professionalism in the industry
Example of personal integrity, values and ethics consistent with the standards expected of an advertising professional
Mr Rakshit illustrates a fine example being an industry leader, making a distinction in the international arena.

The AAAI believes Indian Advertising commands respect in no small measure, thanks to the qualities of leadership, professionalism and integrity that all these advertising giants have, in common, contributed to our profession.
