Mr Rohit Dhamija and Ms Ritu Sinha of
Ogilvy & Mather, New Delhi were adjudged
the winners in the national creative initiative
taken by the Advertising Agencies Association
of India (AAAI) and supported by THE TIMES
GROUP.
The Advertising Agencies Association of
India is delighted to announce that for
the Eighth consecutive year the AAAI has
been able to encourage young creative talent
in the country, through an initiative aimed
at nurturing and providing them with an
opportunity for international exposure.
Supported by THE TIMES GROUP, the AAAI
organized the national leg of this contest
(AAAI-Cannes Young Creatives Contest 2008),
and invited entries on the theme ‘Save
the Tiger’ from AAAI member agencies
and all INS accredited advertising agencies.
It is also a matter of pride that the Ogilvy
& Mather team which AAAI has selected;
through a contest will be the official Indian
team to take part in the Young Creatives
Contest 2007 at Cannes. The winning team
will be flying off to the Cannes Advertising
Festival in June to compete with other teams
from all over the world in the prestigious
International Young Creatives Contest.
Vinod Nair, AAAI Executive Committee Member
and currently in charge of this initiative
of the AAAI, was the Convener of the Contest.
For the judging process, Mr Josy Paul, Chairman
and National Creative Director, BBDO India;
Mr Narayan Kumar, Executive Director &
Head of Disruption Practice, TBWA Anthem
Pvt Ltd and Mr Ravi Deshpande, Chief Creative
Officer, Contract Advertising (India) Pvt
Ltd, were jury members.
The selection was a two stage process.
In the first phase of selection process,
out of the 272 entries received, the judges
shortlisted four. In the second phase, the
shortlisted teams were asked to make a presentation
before the jury on the work done by them
in the past and thought process behind the
entries sent by them. Finally, the team
comprising Rohit Dhamija and Ritu Sinha
of Ogilvy & Mather, New Delhi, was declared
the winner for being sent to Cannes International
Advertising Festival, with the support of
THE TIMES GROUP. The entry submitted by
the team is attached.
THE TIMES GROUP, the Official Festival
Representatives of Cannes in India, have
also consented to bear all the expenses
of the wining teams' trip to Cannes.
